Splash Out for the Bethany Family

Join us in a sponsored walk across the sands of Morecambe Bay (at low tide of course!) and, in an atmosphere of fun, fellowship and challenge, raise vital funds for the amazing work in Tanzania. The walk will start at Hest Bank (just north of Morecambe) at 11.30am. Under the experienced leadership of our guide - Alan Sledmore - and his team, we will arrive at Humphrey Head near Flookburgh about three and a half hours later.
There you will receive a completion certificate and coaches will be waiting to bring us all back to the start. Car parking is free on the foreshore at Hest Bank where there are also toilets and a cafe. Toilets and refreshments are also available at the Venture Centre on Humphrey Head. The walk is 9 miles long and you will get rather muddy - and a little wet as we wade through the River Kent estuary half way through the walk! Tractors will be on hand to ferry small, nervous or merely fashion conscious walkers through the Kent, which can be a couple of feet deep! The guide team have quad bikes in case of emergencies - but as there never are any - they are happy to give free rides to the kids during the event.
The Bethany Team are really kind - and will still give the kids completion certificates even if they have spent most of the time on the quad bikes! Dogs are welcome - and can often earn more sponsor money than their owners! So -have a go - it's great fun and a great way to support the vital work of Bethany.
Please register as soon as possible - but don't send any money. The registration fee - which will be collected at Hest Bank on the morning of the walk - is £10 for adults, £5 for children and £15 for a family ticket (2 adults and up to 3 children). This includes the coach fare back to Hest Bank, guide and tractor fees, completion certificates and all other expenses which we have to meet.
On receipt of your registration - by 'phone, letter or email - we will send you confirmation and sponsor forms.
